Most of the deliveries we create on Adobe Campaign are part of a workflow. This is why we need to know how to use the data in the workflow to customize our delivery.
The delivery activity can process data from the workflow in order to personalize the delivery content. Let’s look at some of the examples.
Example 1:
The additional data defined in the workflow activities can be used to personalize the delivery content as shown below.
Example 2:
In a direct mail, you can include additional data taken from data manipulation carried out in the workflow, in the extraction file.
Example 3:
The data stored in the workflow’s work table is also accessible in the personalization fields. They are referred to as targetData. You can use these to customize your delivery as shown below.
Note: Target extension (targetData) type personalization elements are not available for targeting workflows. The delivery target has to be built in the workflow and specified in the inbound transition of the delivery.
Example 4:
If a segment code is specified in a targeting activity, it is added to a specific column of the workflow table and will be offered along with the personalization fields. To display all personalization fields, click the Target extension > Other…link accessible via the personalization button.
Bonus knowledge:
TargetData
The data stored in the workflow’s work table is accessible in the personalization fields. To do this, use the following syntax:
%= targetData.FIELD %
Only data contained in the transition may be used to personalize the delivery. targetData type personalization fields are only available for the inbound population of the Delivery activity
Hope this helps.
